Sharing Internet with laptop

Hi all!!

I plan to buy an apple PowerBook 12" this summer, and I'd like to share the internet connection I have on my Linux box (Gentoo) via wireless with the PowerBook.

I don't know exactly what I need, but I guess that with a wireless card for my linux box would be enough to give internet access to the apple laptop via wireless (PowerBook has a built-in wireless card).
The next question is, how do I configure Linux to give internet access to laptop, preventing my neightbours to steal bandwith? I don't know if it has to do with /etc/hosts file or iptables config or both or neither. Actually I'm quite lost in all these matters :$

Thanks for help/tips

hi there

enable IP masquerading(using ip tables), then ip forwarding on linux machine
after that u can enable only one IP to access the internet through ur machine using FIrewall

regards
