Share Wi-fi connection over ethernet during a LiveCD Session

So, I have run into one of the strangest pickles ever. My main computer's hard drive is failing, everything's already moved to my desktop but... that's a desktop, no Wi-Fi ;_;.

There is a trick (feature?) to share internet over ethernet (Network Settings, IPv4, Share to other computers, check the require box and turn off IPv6) but the one little catch stopping me from using this on a LiveCD (500$ less than a new hard drive ) is that it requires a restart to work. Restarts don't work on LiveCDs (I think we all know that).

Any suggestions?

I can use any LiveCD (Not DVD) but I already burnt a Lubuntu 12.10 one and would like to use that.

Many live cd's can usually act like a normal install. Ram and the cd are added to act like a real system. Not sure but see if this helps. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/In...nectionSharing

A different way. http://linuxers.org/howto/how-share-...omputers-linux

I don't see the ipv6 being an issue. Why do you have to disable that or I don't get the question.

If you want, you can easily create a real hard drive install to a pretty darn cheap 8 G flash drive.

I don't know why I have to disable that ether there was a guide I printed off a few months ago and it says to do that.
The hinderance of the liveCD is that you can't restart the computer withought resetting everything.
I am tring the second link right now, will get back in a moment.

Second link works, a bit cumbersome (good thing that it won't be getting turned off very often.)

That link did remind me about all the mod probe scripts, what one would need to be restarted for the changes outlined in my first post to take effect (that would explain why a reboot was needed)?
