share dial-up internet from xp to ubuntu
So here' s the deal: I have a linux box running ubuntu 5.04 and a windows xp box which is connected to the internet via dial-up (can't get dsl where i live and can't afford cable right now). I want to be able to share the connection with my ubuntu box but don't exactly know how to go about it. I have both computers networked through a d-link 604 router and they can ping each other so i know they are talking to each other fine. Any help would be great. :Pengy:

I guess what you have to do is get both computers to talk to each other throw private addresses (probable 192.168/16 range), make the XP box the ubuntu's default gw, share the internet connection at the XP, and that would be it.
