it came with OpenSSH, if you have sshd then you will likely have sftp and scp as well.

to use it with windows clients you can get putty it has psftp.exe and pscp

I tried to connect through port 22, but the ftp client says that SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_3.1p1 doesn't respond. But when I use ssh from another linux computer, I can connect and use it, what happened? I did nothing to change the default from the installation of linux. Is it the configuration file?

David said to get sftp, a standard ftp client won't do it. Other than that your all right. Go here: For Windows: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~s.../download.html For Linux: It should come in the ssh_client package

I went to download.com and got the trial version of secure fx; I needed it because it has a GUI. GUI's are need for me whenever possible cause the largest bottleneck on my computer is typing <I'm not slow, but typing long commands for many files is slow compared to point and click>. I do have one more question. Could you please explain (or show me a hyperlink that does) why using an ftp client using port 22 wont work?

ssh works using a key pair for encryption

regular ftp clients do not support encryption
