Question Setup intranet on Fedora Core4 & win98

New to linux.
Have set up Fedora Core 4 linked to win98 box on crossover cable. (Playing with web map serving using Mapserver. No need to connect to internet.)

The install of MapServer included an Apache install - along with other libraries - part of a complete solution from maptools.org.
Previously installed Samba and both boxes happily transfer files etc.

The IP address for Mapserver has been set up on 127.0.0.1 Port 8080. (I accepted default when installing)
I can ping that address from both boxes and get satisfactory replies.
When I try to reach the address through a browser on either box it will not
connect.

What basic things should I be exploring to get the browser to connect.

127.0.0.1 is the loopback address, which means that the service is only available to browsers running on the same system. To connect from another system the service must be attached to a regular IP address like 192.168.1.2.
