Well, It said error connecting to host. Same thing... So what do I do now? It worked before I rebooted my computer since the power went out and now it dosen't work. What's wrong?

It maybe that the webmin system is not being started at boot. To check if it is running do the following command:

netstat -ln

This will display all listening connections on your computer. Look if port 10000 is open (it will say 0.0.0.0:10000 somewhere if it is). If not then you need to make sure it is running. You can change that from the desktop (if you are using GNOME or something), I cant remember how atm.

I have a router and it has NAT with port forwarding

ok well listen up.

i have the same set up. ie a puter connected to a router then out onto adsl.

to use it properly i have to go into the router settings and enable NAT then go into the forwarding bit. the type in port numbers and tell it where to send incomming stuff to

eg port 80 to 192.168.1.2 (your web server puter ip address)

you have to do this even if you only have 1 puter.

(sorry i admit i havnt read all this thread - if im miles away from your problem im sorry) - lemme know your current upto date problem.

I will try setting up that stuff when I get to the office this weekend. My Mom is in the hospital with Gollbladder stones and my Dad just got out. He had appendicites. He also had a rupture on his belly button. It sounds wired. Um. I do not know how to access the thing you said to use to do that. Can you tell me again so I can change it? Thanks.

My feeling is that the author of this thread knows very little about Linux in general, and that trying to start up a hosting service when he can't even administer his own box is going to be a big mistake for him. This is my first post, and I can't think of a better way to have people pissed off at me with my first post :) To the author of this thread, Redhat 7.3 not booting on your machine is more than likely a hardware issue (bad power supply, cdrom drive that isn't recognized, partially dead motherboard, etc.), and that using a newer version of Redhat isn't going to make this any better. With this Konqueror browser I can't even get to the second page of this thread, so I don't know if you have already talked about the steps you took to confirm that this indeed was a Redhat issue (such as the hardware being brand, spanking new). I just know that Linux for most people presents a big learning curve, and that I have seen several people who were Windows/Hardware experts go to Linux thinking that they could easily transfer their computer knowledge and it didn't happen.
