Unhappy Setting Up Redhat 7.0 Eth0 and Eth1 =/

:smash: la sigh I've been, for the last month trying to get my Linux server back online. After discovering a flaw in the previous installation, I did a clean install; but something went wrong. Eth0 and Eth1 are having a bitch fight of some sort.

My setup is as...

Cable Modem, to what I persume is Eth0

DHCP

Eth1, to Hub

Manuel
192.168.0.1
255.255.255.0

Which was what I had setup normally before.. But now.. for some reason, Eth0; becomes Eth1 and what was originally eth1 I'm guessing becomes Eth0 and deactivates. I used to sorta be able to get on the net under this diability , just to see if I could find someone who could help me; (The net would connect, but when I download a site it would stall on the last bit like there was too much information for my system to handle)

Now I screwed something up even more, and now I can't get on at all, HENCE why I'm doing all this from school where port 80 has been disabled and I have no way of getting in contact with the people I know who guided me through before. I donno what it is.. IRQ conflicts? The fact I have 2 of the same ethernet cards in the one machine?.. I donno, cause I'm a total newbie myself. If it is IRQ problems, How do I? and WHERE do I go to assign them seperate IRQ addy. I see IRQ everywhere in Bios and in the Linuxconf program (somewhere) I donno where to go.

Thanks, I hope I stated my problem and questions clearly for you to understand so you can help me ASAP

i don't think is an IRQ problem . check ur cards configurations in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/

ifcfg-eth0 and ifcfg-eth1
and try to use a local IP like 192.168.1.1
