hi all..

i've been trying to setup an identd server to connect to IRC, but it has not been successful. i installed oidentd and run it separately from inetd daemon...

ps aus | grep identd yields:
nobody <pid> .......... /sbin/oidentd -mf -P 192.168.1.1 -u nobody -g nogroup

using tcpdump -l -i lo | grep auth in one terminal and a telnet localhost auth on another yields the correct result. however, the IRC server (DALNet) that i'm trying to connect to always return 'No Ident Reply'.

my spec:
Debian Linux Sarge
oidentd installed
i'm behind a Linksys router BEFSR41W with DHCP enabled.

auth 113/udp authentication tap ident


u may try to make port nat (redirect) for ident ports. i dont if it works. just try.
