setting up firewall/nat

i fairly new with linux but i know a bit......i'm trying to set up a linux box running slackware 8.1 as a firewall and nat box for my network and i was wondering if anyone could point me to some good resources on the web to set everything up thanks in advance

there is wealth of information on this forum regarding iptables (linux kernel based firewall) and how set up masquerading (NAT'ing) I am pretty sure unSpawn covered most of it in his attempt to educate new linux users to the basics (and not only) of linux security - read the sticky up top in security forum.
