In reply to purchase a domain (who I was talking about with the other person in the thread)...

I'd try Yahoo! or 1and1. I haven't heard that much on GoDaddy. It's so cheap to purchase a domain. Last summer, it was actually just 99 cents (or something around there) to purchase a domain for the .us tld. Just to purchase a domain! Note: no hosting. You have to enter your IP. Do you have Exchnage Server? You could also setup a mail server!

Remember, like I said, put Windows to it's fullest. Don't just buy Microsoft for hosting Web Sites or sharing files!

Also 1and1 comes with five subdomains. Meaning, on either Apache or IIS you chould have help.example.com going to one directory on your web server and example.com going to another directory.

I really hope I have been helpful and timely in responding to your problems.

Your free of charge!

What was the actual fix?

I am sitting on an internal network that has several Windows machines and a SuSE Enterprise 9 server. They each route either through hard-line or wireless connection through a Linksys Router.

I have now registered with zoneedit and setup my DNS through them. On the router, I have a port forwarding address on port 80 to the SuSE server (httpd (TCP)).

I have tried everything. I even completely removed my hingedmind.zone and reverse zone. Same result. Question. Do I need to configure the domain zones if I am using zoneedit? I kept the localhost default zones.

However, I am having the exact same issue. I can get to my domain on the SuSE Server but not on any other machine on the LAN or outside. I get page not found.

I just found that when I type http://localhost I get the default Apache Page rather than my domain www.hingedmind.com.
