Setting up an FTP server?

I would like to setup an FTP server. I can log into my box, but when a user tries to use LS it won't let them.

I have no idea how to edit anything or setup the FTP so that each user uploads to his dir. Also, I do not know how to change the default apache page.

Any ideas?

What ftp daemon do you use? Can a user do "ls" when using passive mode? Does your firewall block port TCP/20 traffic?

Hi, the only ports open are 21 and 80. No, they can't do the LS command.

When I try to ftp in, I am using command promt from windows.

ftp> dir
500 Illegal PORT command.
425 Use PORT or PASV first.

Tried passive mode? allow the firewall to accept TCP/20 traffic?
