By the way, the dyndns domain I gave you isn't the correct one. Try connecting to 247.homelinux.org on port 25!!!!:jawa:

Okay, I have given serious thought to what you said. And I realized that one of the reasons I switched to linux was to eliminate my usage of windows completely so I could live a care free life without having to worry about patches that need to be applied every second.
So I got my 2 bit brain working on a solution and I came up with one. It was to search heaven and hell for a linux driver for my USB modem. Luckily I found a modem driver for a modem with the exact same USB ID and simmillar chip-set as my modem. Now I have to update my kernel (something I haven't done before) and configure the adsl modem then look into any errors which will take a few days. Once thats done, I'lll setup apache and I'm good to go. Thanks for the advice, reminded me of what drove me away from Winblows! vxc69:) |
Hey all,
"vxc69" What does b/c mean? and Why do I need a port forwarder? I tried to restart the network but all it does is automatically activate eth1 (the NIC for LAN) I will check on the rc.local thing though. Thanx for the suggestions I will start right in on them.:D P.S. What does BTW mean? I'm new to some of these acronyms. |
b/c - because!
