Setting up a Network Gateway

I want to setup my linux box so that I can share the dail-up with other networked users via the ethernet card.
I'm running Fedora Core 3, but the other computers are a Mac and a PC running WindowXP. So I'm going to need some services but I'm not too sure what is needed, or where to start.

to set up a linux computer as a gateway i believe you need to read up on ip masquerading and iptables. a quick google/linux gave a good yield - here's the top link: http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/doc...ade-HOWTO.html

You're probably going to want to use a firewalling script as opposed to just setting up everything manually. I recommend IPKungFu (http://www.linuxkungfu.org/) -- it's a great automated firewalling script that also helps you to configure your box to share your internet connection.

Another firewalling script that I've heard of, though never used, is FireStarter (http://www.fs-security.com/). FireStarter has a GUI, so it might be a bit easier to use if you still haven't discovered the joys of the CLI interface
