Setting Samba //computername !! Driving me Nuts!

hello all,

I was wondering, how do you set the //computername?? I've read a few howtos and there doesn't seem to be anything on setting the computer name for samba. Right now I have a very simple setup where all users are able to access my linux box from my windows machines. The thing is the computer name samba uses isn't what I want it to be.

Basically I want to change the //computername that samba is using.

Any help would be really really appreciated!!!

Look at /etc/samba/smb.conf

There should be a line such as: "netbios name = ......."
Change that and restart the Samba daemon.

killall smbd
killall nmbd
smbd -D
nmbd -D
