Setting Hostname

Hi,

Kinda of a stupid question but..
what is the correct way to set the hostname of a machine on a Fedora 3 system that would be persistant after reboots.

do u edit the /etc/sysconfig/network file
& say hostname=abc.xyz.com
& do service network restart

or u say hostname abc.xyz.com

the problem is that
if i edit the sysconfig network file & do a restart
the the new hostname is not picked up.. after the restart.

on the contrary..
if i say hostname abc.xyz.com then it works, sets the new hostname

but i get the old hostname after a reboot.

thanks.

edit the etc/sysconfig/network file or
use linuxconf and set it through networking - client tasks - host name and ip
