set up router with fedora3

Hey u guys....
I apologize for this, but Im a total noob on linux.
I finished installing Fedora3 yesterday on a Athlon500 machine with the intention to set it up as a router for my second machine, P4 3400HT with WinXP. A friend of mine has this KDE bar at the top... I dont, even though i installed KDE and all that stuff. Any way to turn it on?
What steps do I have to take so that the machine will be a router?

Further questions:
How do i configure my network in any way? I dont know a single command

THANK YOU!!
