set up my internet connection


can any one tell me a command to set up my internet connection in debian 3.1 please "network interface " please ie some thing like /sbin/netconfig thanks nige

the command you are looking for is /sbin/ifconfig
the file in debian that configures all networking devices is /etc/network/interfaces
in this file you will also find example configuration sections for example devices. for additional info please reffere to the man pages,
man ifconfig
and
man interfaces
if you have a look at the LQ wiki pages, some people have already put a howto togeather on the entire subject 'networking'
