sendmail no relaying

Hi,
I have been trying to solve this for a while, but I still don't seem to get it. The sendmail service is running ok and starts with no errors, but when I try to send an email from the php script it doesn't show any error, and in the log there is no error or fatal error notice, but all mail goes to the /var/spool directory and stays there instead of getting sent. Is this a relaying problem?

Are you relaying on outbound? It's not an internal relaying issue as that will result in a bounce instead of queueing. What's your maillog have to say about it?
