I am planning to migrate a Lotus Mail server to Microsoft Exchange 2k3.My mail relay is running on Sendmail for incoming and outgoing mails. I wish to perform this migration in a user by user process that is in gradual steps. For this I plan to configure Sendmail to relay the same incoming mail to both Lotus Notes(existing server) and Exchange(plan to set up working concurrently with Lotus Notes). I will also plan to create user mail box in both servers. So that I can go to each user desktop and migrate their mail client one at a time till everyone is cut over to the new exchange box. For their Lotus notes archive mails, I intend to use a exchange connector and transfer them to a local pst file.
My question is if I edit the the mailertable in /etc/mail/mailertable
by adding something as below:
mycompany.com smtp:[lotusmailserver.mycompany.com] <--- existing line
mycompnay.com smtp:[exchangeserver.mycompany.com] <--- new line
will incoming mails be deposited in both mail servers?Any comments or advise would be appreciated, thanks!
