Sendmail Configuration Problem

Hello, I have a problem with the sendmail. It sends out but not internally to local linux users. It has a error of 553 and 554, where the 553 saids mail loops back to me (MX error), and 554 local configuration error. Can anyone help out? This is the first time I used sendmail and usually use Exchange. I used the m4 to create the sendmail.cf, and the linux is version 7.2 Red Hat. Thanks.

Hi ,

The MX error is because in ur DNS entries u have certain MX record which is creating a LOOP .

Check ur DNS entries .

Regards,

Yes, you are right. I was following the stupid Red Hat book, from Red Hat Press and it told me how to setup DNS, operates differently from Windows and Exchange. So I decided to change the nameserver name itself. I made a alias to the hostname that is serving the nameserver, then used the alias to ut into the NS record, and MX records. That fixed the problem right up. Thanks for the help.
