send and receive like net send

Hi,

I have a Debian box in a Windows environment network. I want to send and receive messages, like using messenger service. How can I do this both ways (sending from Windows to Linux and from Linux to Windows machines)?

Thanks
abolos

use an im client like kopete or gaim, and sign up to msn messenger or aim or something like that. Then people can choose if they want your messages or not...

In Linux, you can send messages using smbclient -M NetBiosName (check man page).

I don't know how to receive messages in linux in that way, if you know, please, tell me!

cheers,

Great post anupamsr ! I was looking for a program like this for years.
It is great to send administrative messages to the users about critical network events.

thanks,

Thanks anupamsr. I'm going through them and check which one is suitable for me. Great.
