Selecting Wireless ISP

I'm in the process of trying to select an ISP to over-charge us and screw us. As we all do, I'm trying to minimize the gouging and the size of the screw.

I need to outfit 150 Linux units with wireless internet access since these devices are embedded and not near any other internet access.

I'd prefer a USB data modem with an external antenna connection.

I have a very low data rate requirement of less than 1MB per month per unit.

Anyone have any experience getting wireless internet on Linux?

Any info would be appreciated, these ISPs are devious little cheats and liars. Thanks in advance.
