I have been trying to get samba and my W2K Server to play nice for 3 weeks now. I have read every post and how-to I can find and still no results.
I would like to setup samba to use my ads server for authentication. I installed samba, configured the smb.conf, the krb5.conf, and the nsswitch.conf. I can get wbinfo -u/-g/-p working but not -t. I keep getting secret is bad. I can also get the getent passwd and group to work. As I understand it I should be able to login at the samba server using a windows username and password,( not that i really want to but I should be able to) that doesn't happen either. I can join the domain and view shares on the W2K Server but not the other way around.
Can anyone offer any suggestions? Frankly, I'm at my wits end with this.
