Question Searching Internet Addresses

My ISP has asked me to search internet addresses from my computer to his to determine the route my connection follows. What would be the easiest way to get this information.
He is trying to figure out why we (in our area) are getting such poor quality dialup service and wants to know how we are connecting (what IP addresses are in our route).
Any help is greatly appreciated.

traceroute <URL>

Where URL is the one you're interested in such as:
traceroute www.yahoo.com

This should show all network hops from you to the remote host.

Thanks for the reply. It was helpful. I ended up using the FC4 network tools along with the traceroute on CLI. Worked like a charm.
My gratitude for your time and effort.
