Hey all,
i have an ubuntu server accessed by a few pcs. i have an additional internal drive (P
apart from the "C" drive where the ubuntu os is that is accessed by everyone. it had no password and the printer would scan documents into this (P
with no problem. No one access the C: drive where the ubuntu is stored. All pc users have linux username with no home directory. Recently i made this drive usershare = users so now it requires everyone to log in to this drive. Again no problems with everyone except the printers. i even created a "username" in linux and samba for the printer and i put in all the info and it says it can't connect.
so i put my username and password in the printer and it said it has connection when i pressed "test connection" but when i scan a document it says scan error. not sure what is going on.
i dont understand the configuration for printers/scanners. printing works perfect cause everyone has the printer loaded in the windows machine and it just connects through the netowork and print. so i never bothered messing around or looking to how to configure printers in ubuntu until now
thanks for your help n suggestions in advance.
