Sbc Dsl Works Fine People!!!
Ok I have noticed ALOT of posts about SBC DSL and a few others not supporing linux which is ironic in itself being as they run a large part of thier internet services with linux but anyhow,
Sbc dsl as well as most other types of pppoe connections werk fine(infact you will get your true rated line speed unlike a certian other os we all love to hate) under linux.
So whats the trick you say ?
Its really quite simple. all you need is a little app known as "rp-pppoe"
This app is available free from roaring penguin.com and will set things up nd have you online in under a minute. now some distros like gentoo and a few others have even been nice enough to include this handy dandy app on thier live cds but if not find a werkin box download it and read the instructions, its really quite simple to set up and blammo you are online....
Hope this sheds some light on the whole dsl,adsl vhadsl sdsl what have ya mystery.
