Samba Server String

Hi,

When I map a drive from my windows xp machine to my suse 9.2 samba box, it displays the following:

homes on 'Samba 3.0.7-5-SUSE (192.168.200.15)'

How can it to show something like this:

homes on 'Samba (192.168.200.150)'

I've tried changing the server string line in smb.conf, but it doesn't effect it at all. Is there something doing wrong, or is there some other config file that need to be edited? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

- Delamatrix

i believe it's likely to be cached details on your XP machines. I totally renamed a samba server, and all smb.conf details, and reconnecting on XP STILL kept the old host name...

How do you rename the samba server?

and

What smb.conf details are you talking about?
