Samba Server for Win 2008 R2 domain
Are there any good concise but complete articles out there on how to configure Samba Server for a Windows 2008 R2 network?
Samba 3.x or the newly released Samba 4 beta?
I've just (as in 5 days ago) successfully joined Samba 3 to a Windows 2008 R2 domain and configured PAM to allow shell login for AD users, including automatic home directory creation with pam_winbind.so.
I ran into a number of issues along the way, and spent the better part of two weeks Googling and experimenting with various settings. I found a number of guides and HowTo documents on various web sites (including samba.org), but they were either incomplete, outdated, or both.
If a complete and reasonably up-to-date guide exists, I wasn't able to find it. I may end up writing one myself.
