samba server denying permissions


i have set up samba server on my machine.it is working that i have test. ow when i try to connect to it through win2000, by going through the n/w palces. i can c my server listed up there.but when i double click it it gives error permission denied,cound not get connected to the network resource.... i have chked that mine n/w is working fine, and i can ping the system..

kindlly help me

if u have selinux off it first then test again from win

btw pls update your info , no one know what u use

sir tahnx for ur concern ..sir i m using rhel 4.. sir i resolved the problem, in security i had selected user, but didnt defind any user. now when i have defind user. it is working... but i dont want that my users enter their username/passwords. i want anybody on my lan can access the system without any user authentication.

set public permission so anyone from your LAN can access that
server share folder w/o entering user/pass

here is the sample

root@noc:/# mkdir /home/pubshare
root@noc:/# chmod 777 /home/pubshare/

edit your smb.conf
-----------
[PUBSHARE]
comment = Public Share
path = /home/pubshare
guest ok = yes
writable = yes
----------

restart your samba then u are done
