Samba Server and Windows Shares

Hi, I have a problem with „Samba“ shares on Ubuntu 8.04. Bringing shared folders over from Windows (on another computer) is not a problem...until I try same process with a Windows backup folder holding .tib data from an „Acronis“ backup. The files appear in Ubuntu Network, everything looks o.k., Ubuntu just won't copy the data to another folder. Other shares work without a problem, its only with these „:.tib“ data. Can anybody help me out here please?

Hi

Maybe the tib files are too big for the destination file system? Just a guess since everything looks normal at first. Can u check if u have a max file size limitation? And also, what is the size of the tib files?

Hope this is the case...

Thank you for the prompt reply.
Destination file system is an (external) partition NTFS but the files were too big, you were right, I just packed them into seperate folders and it worked. One more question...how do I check for max. file size limitations? I'm running Samba 3.0.28a...is there a GUI, or a way to check/set file size limitations here? Tib files are 2 x 4GB
