Samba, roaming profiles, user access, printing and folder redirection...
I recently managed to configure samba as a PDC and configure Roaming Profiles. However there are a few minor issues I need to get addressed before the network is ready for use and I was hoping that I can get some help...
1) Roaming profiles work fine, but users cannot read files from the c:\windows directory... The problem is I have placed a custom wallpaper there, and users who log in end up with a blank background. Is there any way to make user accounts able to read files from the c:\windows directory?
2) Printer sharing works fine too. This still needs a lot of debugging on my part, I was just hoping that there are any general guidelines I have missed. For now, the $print share doesn't work very well, Windows machines keep searching for drivers even though I have put them under /var/lib/samba/printers/W32X86. I have set /var/spool/samba as the spool directory (maybe I should set the user's home directory for this?). Printing does take a long time for some reason (using cups raw printing). Any suggestions?
3) I want to store the user's My Documents folder in their home directory to avoid long logon times due to copying files e.t.c. How do I implement this? For now My Documents is located under /var/lib/samba/profiles/%U/My Documents which is the directory where user profiles are stored...
Thanks in advance,
