Hi, I'm running RH 3.0 ES with samba 3.0.2 as my PDC to about 40 W2K boxes. I've run across a few problems, not so much on the back-end as cosmetic/ profile associated things that are almost as important.
I've been touching on this for a few days and haven't made any ground, any help would be greatly appreciated.
1. I'm not able to change the background or desktop on a couple of my profiles. I've set up 3 roaming profiles (2 of which I'm going to make into mandatory profiles.) I've used poledit to edit the ntconfig.pol file--I've gone to the extent of clearing out most every restriction.
Two different versions of this occur. Some options hold until I log out and they are log, as if it were mandatory(background and desktop icons.) Then some won't take at all, like the screensaver. It seems like this is a policy matter, but can it be anything else?
2. Is there an easy way to mess with the Startmenu of these users, I do not want all of the "all users" programs in their start menu.
