Samba question

Hi All,

I just installed an HP PSC-950 printer/scanner/copier/fax in my ClarkConnect network server (based on RedHat). I configured it to share the printer via CUPS and my WinXP machine can print fine. I also set up scanning and whatnot on the Linux box.

My question is, can I use this scanner on my WinXP machine? More specifically, can I somehow scan to Windows via the Linux box? As I said, I can scan on the linux box directly, now I just need to feed that to a WinXP TWAIN driver for photoshop

I doubt it. I don't think there is any way to even do it with two windows machines. It can only be done with Linux to Linux using SANE. Twain does not seem to support it.

If you have a webserver you may setup a php, perl, or java interface to control the scanner, or use a shell login to execute commands and have a download area for the scanner files via Samba or Webserver.
