SAMBA Problem
I have 2 PCs on a lan. Here are the specs:
PC 1 ------------------------- Workgroup: HOME Comp name: THOMAS Linux Dist.: Mandrake 10 Running: Samba 3 Connects to hub w/ DSL in uplink port PC 2 ------------------------ Workgroup: HOME Comp name: DELORES Linux Dist.: Mandrake 10 Running: Samba 3 HUB ------------------------- 3 PC to hub ports - THOMAS - DELORES - unused 1 Uplink - DSL Modem DELORES detects both THOMAS and DELORES using Smb4k. DELORES can also connect to herself, under HOME. DELORES cannot access THOMAS, getting the error message: Connection to THOMAS failed. THOMAS is not automatically detecting DELORES or THOMAS on the network. By entering DELORES' IP manually, THOMAS sees DELORES. However, THOMAS cannot access DELORES, getting the error message: Connection to DELORES failed. When entering THOMAS' IP manually, THOMAS sees THOMAS. However, THOMAS cannot access THOMAS, getting the error message: Connection to THOMAS failed. You can find my smb.conf for both computers here (they are using the exact same configuration): http://www.nofirewall.com/cache/smb.conf Thanks for any help you can give me, Thomas |
