samba, printing and windows just don't mix

I am running a redhat 7.3 server with samba and lprng. I am unable to make it print. The part that baffles me is that a test page from a windows 2000 pro computer will print with no problem, but if I try to print anything except a test page from printer properties, it simply doesn't print. The queue remains empty and nothing happens. Word pad say "could not start print job." I truely do not understand what's going on. Has anyone else had this problem?

Need samba 3 and cups

You'll need samba 3 and a current version of cups.

To print with Windows to Linux you need a combination of cups and samba3.

samba 2 works with Windows 98 SE and prior but Microsoft changed the port for NetBIOS.

Red Hat 7.3 did not come with samba 3.

If you don't know how to configure samba, you can use swat.

I have installed Mandrake 10.1 with cups and now it works fine, except there is a 10 second delay on everything that is done with the printer such as selecting it, going to properties, printing with it, etc.
