Samba passwords
I have a Samba server which is running as a PDC and it is working well.
I have setup in the global section the following password settings unix password sync = yes pam password change = yes passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u I have tested it from a Windows 98 clinet and was able to change the samba password from the workstation and relogon to both the workstation and the server. I have 2 questions 1. Is it possible to set something up on the server that will force the user to change their password as well as give the user warning notifications of their need to change their passwords 2. When a user password is changed can the change be passed to a Windows NT 4.0 workstation that is functioning as a print server for a plotter. I can force the users to have to change their passwords locally on a Windows 2000 system ad make sure the changes are made on the samba server as well. But since we have several 98 workstations and for easier central administration I would like to set it up from the server for everyone to have to change their passwords and have it change it on all systems |
The password expire time and dialogues are part of Samba-tng.
This is the fork of Samba rewritten for PDC use.. |
