samba - password prompt

I'll just start off by apologizing if this has already been answered somewhere else. Please send me in the right direction, if there's already a thread.

The question concerns the samba server running on RedHat9. I'm browsing the network from a win2000 and a winXP machine.

When I click on the samba machine, I get a password prompt. The shares are public and have guest access, but I still get a password prompt. Is there any possible way to configure the smb.conf file, so that it never even prompts for a password?

Thanks in advance!

Thumbs up solved

Well, I solved it by changing the security to "security = share"... not sure what this changes as far as opening a huge hole in my defenses, but hey! no more password prompt! yahoo!
