samba into windoze world
Proclaimer : I am Windoze idiot.
What I want to do? I want to make my Slackware box samba into the windows network. Information: It is a corporate windows network. I have no idea how the hell it is setup. I know that Windows XP authenticate into a central server. Probably a domain server. Whatever that is. Whatever you share (folder, files), the authentication PROBABLY is done on the server. I have configured samba to be in the workgroup I am suppose to be. But I could not access the shared files because I can't authenticate myself. Further more, I am not seeing the printer using samba. Will paste the config file here in a short while. Am on windoze. |
So, you're trying to connect Samba to a Windows domain, right? Or is it just a workgroup? It sounds like the former with a certain organizational unit set for your department, or whatever. If this is the case you'll have to be using winbind in addition to Samba. You'll forgive me if I don't look up more than that for the time being. If possible, please provide more info about the kind of network your office has set up.
