I thought I had everything set up right but no one can see me or anything. Any suggestions?

question 1:

--why are you trying to share NTFS drive via samba? I haven't been working in linux much lately, but i doubt they stabilizied NTFS writing in the last month...

question 2:

have you:
start->run->
\\192.168.1.1\

-- where 192.168.1.1 is the IP of your samba server

-- can you ping it?

I'm not trying to write to it, just have others be able to read from it.

I can ping it because its my ip address in the LAN 192.168.1.3. But the start, run thing doesnt work. Any suggestions?

and obviously the start run thing is now
\\192.168.1.3\

what's the error?
(i'm just buying time to start picking through your config file...)

It says unknown host when I do \\192.168.1.3\.
