I havn't got a rc.local file though! it seems that on this distro (Suse 8.1) that they use the init.d.config file instead.
so i tried putting your line in there but it didn't work unfortunately.
what does the c$ bit mean? i just copied that! was i supposed to substitute something here?
nah, the "$" is just something i used to get it to work!! try it with or without!!
no rc.local file?!....just whack it in some file that gets executed at boot time!
just try it from the command line, if it works there then use it in a file, i previously used it remotely to access my windoze box, play around with the mount command.
anyway...sorry i cant be much help! (never used Suse b4, must give it a go one day!)
sorry I havn't replied for a while but my system crashed twice!
I'm not sure why, but KDE froze and corrupted my file system so bad i had to reinstall . Then again today i was trying to get my network up when i tried altering my smbfstab file again, rebooted and got the same errors as before!
so I've had to re-install again!
now i am very surprised about this as i thought Linux was supposed to be ultra stable?
it's not a hardware fault as my XP sytem is on the same disk and has been working fine.
do you think it could possible be anything to do with smbfstab?
both times it crashed I had been trying out variations of syntax trying to get smbd and nmbd running at boot?
