samba file server

Hello all,

Here's my current setup. I have 3 servers. One is basicly like a network storage drive for all my stuff, so I can get access to it whenever I want. The second one is a apache server, with all the files for it on its local disks. And then I have another one which is streaming audio server. Again, all its data is on it's local disk.

I would like to setup everything on the fileserver and have the other two read off of that. Im sure there's a way to get samba to accept clients from specific internal ip address's?

I want to make backing up and managing of all files more easy for myself, and just have the other guys out there reading from the fileserver.

If someone could give me a sample code for the smb.conf file to make this happen, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

The smb.conf file has enough examples to share the files however you want.
For restricting the hosts you can use
hosts allow = apacheserver.domain.tld streaming.domain.tld

[streaming]
path = /mnt/streaming

[apache]
path = /mnt/documentroot

Thats the bare minimum .For your custom options , you can check out the man page or if there is some specific need you have , post it here , you might get the right keywords for it.For eg. if you want to restrict access to any user use
valid users = user1 user2
etc.
