Samba domain server 95/98 cannot open files

Help! I have samba 3.0 running our office network. 2 win 98 machines 1 win 95 and the rest are xp or win 2000.

The problem: win 95/98 users can see all files on network but cannot open them.

The win 2000/xp users have no trouble. I don't think its a permission problem because I can log on as any user from the 2k or xp machines and open the files.

Welcome to LQ.

Ar you logging in with the correct user name when you use the win9x machines? It needs to be the same user on the samba box as is used at login.

Yes it does not seem to be a permission problem. I would not be able to open the folders if I didn't have rights. The problem only occurs on the 95/98 machines. I can log on as any user on win 2k with no problem.
