samba + cups win xp

hi folks,

I have an hppsc700 connected to a winxp box. I'm trying to configure CUPS to use it with samba, I've add the printer, but it says "connection refused" when I try to print a test page. I have the hpijs printer driver, and added it this way:

name: hppsc700
location: \\pdc1\hppsc700

device: windows printer via samba
device uri: smb://myuserass@pdc/pdc1/hpsc700

Hewlett-packard and the driver I've downloaded.

My samba server is a primary domain controller, named pdc, and pdc1 is the machine with windows xp and printer, joined into the domain.

I would be thankfull for any help
regards
Ygor

Is your printer set to 'share' on the XP box?

I connected to my PSC 750 with the same setup you have.

All I did was add the printer as a smb printer using the cups web based gui.

Worked fine for me, didn't need to add a password or anything.

Have you tried using the cups gui to add it?
