Samba Authentication Problem

I am able to see my Linux share from my XP Pro box. The XP Pro box is on a Novell Network connecting me to a University network.
The Linux box and the XP Pro computer are connected by a hub. When using LinNeighborhood from the linux box I can see my XP pro computer but when I click on its name an insert user box pops up showing domain, username and password. I just input my root username and password (domain was there). Then I went to Konqueror. I typed smb://nameofxpcomputer
it asks me for a share (not sure how to give it the right syntax). Then it asks me for a username and password. I've been trying my Novell username and password but it just keeps returning me to the username/password dialogue.

I'll keep looking for answers. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
