samba and winxp

Hey everyone,

I finally got samba running and shared the folder I wanted shared. I can even access it from my windows PC.
which was quite a difficult task for me given my lack of experience with linux

Heres my problem:

Both machines are in the same workgroup (deltsig205a). When I go to my network places in windows, I see the shared folder on my linux machine, and I can click on it and access its contents. But when I click on view workgroup computers, I now get the error

"deltsig205a is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of the server to find out if you have access permissions.

The specified network name is no longer valid"

The last part of this message changes from this to "the server is not configured for transactions" every so often as i click on it

The odd part about this is it just kind of randomly happened, it was working at one point.

I realize this is a very Windows related question, but I am thinknig it has to do with samba, because I have tried changing the workgroup to another name (on the windows machine) and I can view the workgroup.

The reason why this is important to me is because i am on a large school network, and I need to be able to navigate to this folder from other computers across campus, and if i cant find my workgroup, then I cant get to my shared resources
Thanks guys

Let me add also, that even when I change my workgroup on the windows machine, when I navigate to the workgroup the linux machine is in, i get the error message i mentioned above.

All other workgroups open up fine.
