samba: authenticaton fail when authenticating off of Windows 2003 SP1 AD
I've run into this problem but I have a more interesting situation. There are 2 samba file servers (S1 & S2) in my AD domain. Samba was the same for S1 and S2 at samba-3.0.9-1.3E.3. Everything worked, right, and then I applied SP1. S1 broke, but S2 didn't. I upgraded S1 to the latest samba, still not working. At this stage, S1 is samba-3.0.20rc2-1 and S2 is samba-3.0.9-1.3E.3. While logged into the AD, when users are mapping samba shares, they authenticate automatically off of one of the 3 W2K3 DCs. Well, after SP1 was installed on the authentication server, my users are not able to authenticate anymore when attempting to map the samba share on S1, but they are able to authenticate when attempting to map the share on S2. It gets more interesting. If I change S1 back to samba-3.0.9-1.3E.3, it still doesn't work.
Thanks indeed M$.
I'm going through the smb.conf file and checking it trice, but I have no clue what can cause this issue. I'm going to assign the security=server on both machines because right now S1 is set to ADS, but S2 is set to server.
Any other ideas fellas?
