Samba and lost connection
Hi everyone,
I currently experiencing some strange behavior with Samba3 connection to a remote folder on a 2003 server. Well the problem is not to make it connect, this step works well, but sometime Samba lost is connection and don't seem to be able to reconnect to it by it's own. I alway need to do umount -a and mount -a.
OS: Debian 3.1, kernel 2.6.18
Samba:3.0.14a-3sarge
Here is my setup in /mnt:
/mnt/2003share (folder rights: drwxrwxrwx)
My /etc/fstab:
//SERVERNAME/shared /mnt/2003share smbfs credentials=/root/.smbpasswd_win,dmask=777,fmask=777
Everything go fine except when the 2003 server is rebooted or sometimes when the server stop responding for a while (or too busy maybe). When a reboot happen, when I go to /mnt/2003share and browse (ls -al), Debian freeze for a while, then show directories. But when I try to go in /mnt/2003share, there nothing in it. What I want Debian / Samba to do is to reconnect to it seamlessly (disconnect and reconnect automatically).
Thanks
