Samba 8+3 name problem

Hi there,

Odd Samba problem here. I administer a samba server that serves up data to both a Unix and NT/2000 network. It is running RH7.3. In one directory and so far only one directory some of the files under NT/2000 appear in the 8+3 format. Under Unix they appear Ok. The odd thing is that it is not all files in the directory that appear this way on the NT/2000 system. Some files appear fine. I have tried creating several new files in the directory with hugely long file names and these all appear correctly under NT/2000. Does anyone have any idea where the problem may lie?

Thanks

Paul
