Samba + 3ware RAID
 

Hi all

I have installed RH 7.3 + Samba + 3ware 7000 Escalade RAID controller on an AMD box. Everything was going well, until I tried to share my mirror disk under Samba.

The mirror is mounted onto the filesystem, under the directory shared by Samba. Nothing special is specified when mounted.

Although I can see the share from Win98/XP, I cannot create or delete any files/directories.

However, when the mount is removed, I can share, access and modify the base directory very successfully. The only difference seems to be the 3ware RAID card.

Does anybody out there have a reasonable (or even unreasonable) explanation for this problem.
