SAMBA 3.04 - Max Files Per Directory?

Suse 9.1 Samba 3.04

I notice if I browse a folder from Windows Explorer to Samba Server with lots (over 1000) files in it, the directory listing is SLOW.

Any ideas?

Mucho thanks
